Use, Care and Cleaning Your Ribbon Magnets, Magnetic Material, Magnets
Applying Magnets To Surface
Before applying, test all inks and paints used on the magnet for adhesion and solvent compatibility. If possible, affix to smooth, flat or gently curved metallic surface. Make sure the entire magnet is flat against the surface with no air bubbles/pockets. If you place the magnet in the incorrect position completely remove the magnet and reaffix. Do not pull the magnet across any surface for this could lead to scratches to the surface. Avoid using magnetic material on horizontal surfaces exposed to direct sunlight, for example hoods of automobiles. Do not use in temperatures about 160 F or temperatures below – 15 F. Be aware that long term use on surfaces frequently exposed to sunlight, for example cars can result in uneven fading of the surface the magnet covers as this magnet shields the spot from the ultra violet rays.
Cleaning Flexible Ribbon Magnets
To guard and protect against moisture and dirt buildup between the magnet and the metal surface especially in outdoor circumstances, remove the magnet at regular intervals. Suggested at least once a week, and clean both the magnet and the metal surface with a mild detergent; wipe with a soft cloth or air dry both the magnet and surface. If waxing your vehicle or metal surface allow three days before applying magnetic material.
